Pobles del Sud

Poblados del Sur (officially named Pobles del Sud or Poblats del Sud) is a district of Valencia that was named as such because of its location south of the city of Valencia. It is made up of seven municipalities, annexed to Valencia in 1877, at the same time as Ruzafa, whose municipality they belonged. It is considered to be the most extensive district of Valencia.

It should be remembered that in 1811, the population of Ruzafa (which was made up of practically all the current districts of Ensanche, Quatre Carreres and Poblados del Sur) was grouped as an independent municipality by the City Council of Valencia until 1877.

The seven towns, considered as neighborhoods, are: Horno de Alcedo (Forn D´Alcedo), Castellar-L’´Oliveral, Pinedo, El Saler, El Palmar, El Perellonet, La Torre and Faitanar.
